Lost in the world's tallest building: The day we decided to redefine group travel.

It all started when my husband, Santiago Polanco, and I were clients of a group travel organizer. We signed up for a tour to Dubai. When the day to start our journey finally arrived, we all met and got to know each other at the airport. There were 30 of us, including Santiago and me.

This is where our journey truly began...

Lost in the tallest building in the world

Santiago and I were at the top of the world, at the Burj Khalifa. The excitement of being on the 124th floor was indescribable, but everything changed in a second when we realized our group was gone. In a building of that scale, where every exit looks the same and the language is a barrier, desperation took over. We didn’t know which hotel we were going to, and we didn’t have the guide’s contact information.

When we finally managed to reunite with the group, the response we received was: "I am not your babysitter."

I remember Santiago looked at me and said: "This isn't right. We can't let people feel this way."

That feeling of emptiness and the fear of being alone in Dubai was what made us say: "No one who travels with a company and pays for their services should ever feel like this."

Shortly after, during a trip to Colombia, history repeated itself, but with someone else. We found a young woman in the same helpless situation we had experienced in Dubai. After helping and guiding her, she told us something that changed our destiny:

"You have the soul for this. You should be group tour leaders."

Santiago and I looked at each other, and we knew the time had come.
